OES11 SP1: NSS:: admindrv received the reply(pid=xxxxx) message flooding syslog

Environment

Novell Open Enterprise Server 11 (OES 11) Linux Support Pack 1
NetIQ iManager

Situation

When managing storage related activities using the iManager storage plugin on Novell Open Enterprise Server 11 SP1 servers, this will trigger a series of messages to be logged to the /var/log/messages log.

Actions that will trigger such an event to be logged are for example start iManager, and browse to the 'Storage' section, than  :
  • selecting Pools, Volumes, Partitions & Devices
  • performing any action such as viewing and/or modifying properties here
will result in one or more "NSS:: admindrv received the reply(pid=xxxxx)" message being logged.

Resolution

This has been reported to engineering.
