Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2
Situation
Even with Agent Self Defense disabled, the ZESService cannot be stopped via services.msc nor net stop command.
Resolution
This is working as designed. Agent Self Defence - ASD (Client Self Defence - CSD) prohibits the stopping of the service by forcing a reboot when the service is stopped. Disabling ASD does not change the ability to stop the service via Service Manager or Net commands. To stop the service use taskmgr to remove the service from memory manually.
