High CPU Utilization on a Mobility Server after applying 1.2.3

Environment

Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack 1.2.3

Situation

Symptoms:
ERROR: "Found device in a bad state" in /var/log/datasync/connectors/default.pipeline1.mobility-AppInterface.log
Mobility Idle Threads goes down to 1
Devices unable to connect to the server intermittently
Events in Mobility Connector Queue keeps increasing
 
Changes:
Updated to Mobility Pack 1.2.3 Build 882

Resolution

  1. Download and extract sync.pyc from
    ftp://ftp.novell.com/outgoing/7010524.zip
  2. Browse to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib/device and rename sync.pyc to sync.orig
  3. Copy the extracted sync.pyc to the above location
  4. Restart DataSync by typing "rcdatasync restart" and press Enter

At the time of writing this TID, Mobility Pack 1.2.4 has not been publicly released. If Mobility Pack 1.2.4 has been released, please upgrade to Mobility Pack 1.2.4 instead of following the above steps.
