Novella Messenger 2.2Situation
When opening the properties of a user associated with the Novella Messenger policy, it takes anywhere from 15 seconds to a full minute to actually open the properties page. The properties page of a user who is not associated with the Messenger policy opens right up in just a second or so.
Resolution
It was discovered that the users were associated to the Messenger policy individually rather than via a scope. When the scope was added for the user container and the users were removed individually, the properties page for the users all opened within a second or so
Cause
It was found that when the users are associated with the policy individually, every time the properties page is requested to open it reads the Messenger policy 5 times. The customer in question had 19,000 users associated. This meant that the policy was being read 19,000 x 5 times for each property open request. This has been reported to engineering and the fix will be in the next release of Messenger.
For now the workaround is to associated the users via a scope rather than individually
