OES2 novell-named will not load

Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux Support Pack 3

Situation

rcnovell-named fails to load the DNS service.
The named.run file shows:

03-Feb-2012 15:26:04.850 general: main: notice: starting BIND 9.3.2 -u named
03-Feb-2012 15:26:04.851 general: server: info: found 4 CPUs, using 4 worker threads
03-Feb-2012 15:26:04.873 general: dns/db: critical: NWCCOpenConnByName to mysrvr failed with error code:34826

Resolution

The /etc/hosts file contained a line with 127.0.0.2 associated with the server name and another line with the bound IP address associated with the server name.

Changed the 127.0.0.2 to be associated with the loopback and restarted named.
