Afptcpd IPCclient: Failed to connect. Error - No such file or directory

Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux

Situation

novell-afptcpd fails to load with the following errors:

IPCclient: Failed to connect. Error - No such file or directory
IPCclient: Failed to connect to NCP socket. Error - 2
IPCclient: Failed to register CPL callback with NCP server. Error - 2
Failed to register CPL callback with NCP server. Error - 2

Resolution

The /tmp/.ncpserv socket does not exist. 

Restart NDSD and the socket will be re-created
Then afp can be restarted.


# rcndsd restart
# rcnovell-afptcpd restart
