Environment

Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES2 SP3) Linux Support Pack 3
Novell eDirectory 8.8

Situation

LUM Enabled Services are not listed in the unix workstation object
With out the LUM Enabled Services listed in the unix workstation object for a specific server, iManager plugins that depend on cimon client do not work.  This includes the Novell Cluster Plugin and Novell Samba plugin.

LUM is configured and working properly.

Resolution

The auth, account, and password settings for the pam_nam.so are missing or in the wrong order.
Check that the /etc/pam.d/openwbem has the pam_nam.so listed and in the proper order.
It should look like this for OES2SP3

#%PAM-1.0
auth    sufficient      pam_nam.so      use_first_pass
account sufficient      pam_nam.so
password        sufficient      pam_nam.so
session optional        pam_nam.so
auth       required     pam_nologin.so
auth    required        pam_unix2.so
account    required     pam_unix2.so
password   required     pam_pwcheck.so  nullok
password   required     pam_unix2.so    nullok use_first_pass use_authtok
session    required     pam_unix2.so    none

Viewing the LUM Enabled Services on the unix workstation object should shows all the LUM enabled services.
