Environment

Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack
Novell GroupWise 8

Situation

When you create a mail on various mobile devices and the mail includes extended characters, then external / Internet recipients sees extended characters displayed incorrectly. If the same mail is sent internally to any GroupWise mailbox, then the mail looks fine at the recipient site.

Resolution

This problem is caused by the SOAP protocol on a POA where a Datasync server connects and passes data to. This has been identified and fixed in a newer GroupWise 8 code that you can download from:

You will need to update all POs where are users using the Datasync server. Make sure you use also the latest Datasync mobility pack (the build #730 or later).
This fix will be available later as a part of coming SP3.
