Situation

Modifying distributed appointments from HTC Android Devices does not work fine
Distributed appointments modified by the organizer from HTC Android Device leads to duplicate appointmentws
Distributed appointments modified from HTC Android Device does not get modified on GroupWise
Modifying distributed appointments on some Android Devices do not work fine
Modifying distributed appointments on other Android Devices work fine
Modifying appointments on iOS Devices work fine

Resolution

This is more of an Android/Device issue.

HTC EVO 4G with Android 2.3.3
While Modifying an distributed appointment, please make sure to resend the invitation or else the appointment will not get modified at all
 
HTC EVO 3D with Android 2.3.4
Modifying a distributed appointment leads to duplicate

 
HTC Thunderbolt with Android 2.3.3
While Modifying an distributed appointment, please make sure to resend the invitation or else the appointment will not get modified at all
 
Some devices will allow to resend the invitation, which will modify the original appointment. Some devices do not have that option at all. Please upgrade your device to the latest Android OS if possible.
