"LDAP login failed for user" on Mobility-Appinterface.log while syncing devices

Environment

Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack 1.2

Situation

While trying to synchronize user account with the Data Synchronizer, device shows an error "Authentication failed" and the Mobility-AppInterface.log shows "error: LDAP login failed for user".

Resolution

  1. Open ConsoleOne.
  2. Go to the properties of the user.
  3. Click on the Restriction tab | Change Password.
  4. Configure the device to synchronize with the Data Synchronizer.
  5. If the issue still persists, go to User properties | Restrictions.
  6. Drop down to select Login Restrictions.
  7. Uncheck "Limit Concurrent Connections".
  8. Click on Apply | Close.
  9. Synchronize the device
