Newly Discovered machines appear as 'Managed'

Devices that don't have the agent installed show up as managed devices. When trying to add these devices to a deployment task, the following error is seen in ZCC:

Error: The specified IP address or Host Name cannot be added to the list because it is already a managed device.

In ZCC under Devices > Discovered > Details tab of the discovered device, the following is seen:

• DNS Name field is correct
• Associated Managed Device field holds the hostname of another device

Discovery technologies used:

• MAC Address
• SSH
• ZENworks

Workaround

1. In ZCC, find the device under Devices > Discovered and delete it
2. Re-run the discovery task
3. The device should now be in the Deployable Devices list
