Situation

Underscore at the beginning or at the end of an object name is not being recognized.
Error: Duplicate Name occurs when adding users to eDirectory

Resolution

This is working as designed. An enhancement request has been made to support this type of feature in the future.

Additional Information

john, john_ and _john are the same name in eDirectory. eDirectory treats these as the same name because it treats underscore as an interchangeable character with a space and spaces are not valid at the end of an object name so eDirectory strips the underscore off of the object name.
