iFolder Client not Reconnecting Properly if Network Changed

Environment

Novell iFolder 3.8
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux Support Pack 3

Situation

iFolder client 3.8 is not connecting correctly after changing networks.

If an iFolder client workstation moves from one network to another (i.e. employee is running iFolder in the office, suspends notebook and takes it home), the iFolder client does NOT reconnect to the iFolder server. If the proxy settings on the notebook are removed such that the workstation is no longer using a proxy server to access the internet, the problem goes away.

Resolution

This has been reported to engineering.

Additional Information

The root of the problem is that the iFolder client has been using a deprecated API in .NET for how it reads it's proxy configuration.  If and when a fix to this bug is made available the iFolder client will call a new .NET API that provides the necessary functionality for reading the proxy settings on the client workstation.
