Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux
Situation
When trying to view User Quotas in iManager for an nss volume. The display for users would show up like this.
Error: User Not Found ** [ffadd864-3e9e-4e2e-0e-89-64d8adff9e3e] 100 MB 82.16 MB 17. 84 MB
In the ncpserv.log shows
IPCServRequest open/send/received failed rc=2
nssGetUserSpaceRestriction: IPCServRequest failed rc=2
nssGetUserSpaceRestriction: IPCServRequest failed rc=2
Resolution
Make sure that .ncpserv and .ncp2nss are in /tmp. If those files are not listed you will need to run /etc/init.d/ndsd restart and /etc/init.d/ncp2nss restart or you can reboot the server. Please note this will restart eDirectory.
