Is it okay to run OES or eDirectory on a Data Synchronizer server?

Environment

Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
Novell Open Enterprise Server 11 (OES 11) Linux

Situation

Admin would like to install OES or eDirectory on a SLES 11 box along side Data Synchronizer.

Resolution

Data Synchronizer should be the only software package added to the server.  OES or eDirectory should NOT be added to the same server as the Data Synchronizer package.

Cause

OES or eDirectory can interfere with the performance and reliability of Data Synchronizer, and may even result in conflicts.  It is also untested by Development and there are no plans to test the co-existence of both products on the same machine.

Additional Information

If administrators are afraid of paying extra licensing costs for a dedicated SLES 11 box for Data Synchronizer, they should be made aware that SLES 11 licenses come free with Data Synchronizer as it is part of the GroupWise/SLES licensing bundle.
