Situation

This is designed to be a quick reference guide for the ports used by the various products in the GroupWise product family.  The ports listed here are the default ports used by installer.  The ports used can usually be changed at anytime by an admin.  Please be aware that the products change over time, it's possible that development may change the default ports or add new ones for new components and remove old ones that are not used any longer.  Please see documentation on how and where to change ports.

Resolution

Notes: It should be noted that most components start conversations on the default ports then switch over to other ports, such as 1024 and higher, in order to continue communication to allow other conversations to start and prevent communications from being blocked by one conversation.

Troubleshooting:
If a port conflict is believed to exist, running 'netstat -patune | grep <desired port>' can help identify the conflicting process/program.
