Environment

Novell SecureLogin 7.0.2
NSL7SP2
Secret Store 3.3.x
Windows 7 workstations
Novell Client 2 for Windows

Situation

User is prompted to authenticate when SecureLogin is launched
User is asked to login to SecureLogin
SecureLogin does not launch seamlessly unless primary attachment is to a server running Secret Store

If the workstation client has a primary attachment to a server running SecretStore,
everything works correctly, SecureLogin launches seamlessly as expected. If the same workstation
has a primary connection to server NOT running SecretStore, then the expected stored login credentials are not found, and the user is prompted for a password.

Problem only occurs on Windows 7 workstations.
Problem does not occur on Win XP workstations.

Resolution

Fixed with Secret Store files from Jan 5, 2012 or newer.

Workaround:

Enter a server name in the Novell Client login dialog to force the workstation to attach to a server running Secret Store.

Additional Information

Packet trace of the failure shows the SecretStore client ping all servers running SecretStore, as expected.
All Secret Store servers respond, but the client never attempts an attachment to a server.
