Environment

Novell Access Manager 3.1 Administration Console
Novell Access Manager 3.1 Support Pack 3 applied

Situation

Access Manager setup and working well. The Administrator goes into iManager and looks at the state of the Identity (IDP) server to make sure it is up to date and the health is green. After this, the Administrator browses to the Shared Settings TAB on the IDP server and checks the various option settings in there (Attribute sets, user matching criteria, etc) without making any changes.

The Administrator then goes back to the main IDP server config and immediately sees a message that changes need to be applied. There is no way to backout of what has been done and the IDP server stays in this state until the update server option is clicked.

The issue is cosmetic in that no changes are applied to the IDP server, but confusion arises at the administration level as no one sure of the changes that could be scheduled.

Resolution

Fixed in Access Manager 3.1 SP4.
