SRV records have the ability to specify multiple targets, give them weights, etc. This document shows how to create them properly via the DNS / DHCP management console.

SRV records have the ability to specify multiple targets, give them weights, etc. This document shows how to create them properly via the DNS / DHCP management console.
Resolution
Steps to create:
1. Open the DNS / DHCP Management Console
2. Highlight a zone and click "create"
3. Choose Resource Record
4. Choose type SRV, and fill in the necessary information to your specifications
5. Highlight the same zone that you chose before and click "create"
6. Choose Resource Record
7. Choose type SRV with the SAME NAME that was entered in step 4 (the field is called "owner name")
8. Fill out the rest of the fields (Priority, Weight, Port, Target)
9. Repeat steps 5 - 8 as necessary

2. Highlight a zone and click "create"
3. Choose Resource Record
4. Choose type SRV, and fill in the necessary information to your specifications
5. Highlight the same zone that you chose before and click "create"
6. Choose Resource Record
7. Choose type SRV with the SAME NAME that was entered in step 4 (the field is called "owner name")
8. Fill out the rest of the fields (Priority, Weight, Port, Target)
