Attached file name becomes garbled if file name contains German umlaut characters

Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack 1.2

Situation

Attached file name becomes garbled when an email is composed or forwarded from the Device and if the file name contains German umlaut characters.

Resolution

This is a known issue with Data Synchronizer Mobility pack and is going to be fixed in the next Mobility pack update. Please call Novell Technical Support to obtain this patch.

Steps to Duplicate:
  1. Send a new mail to one of the GroupWise user with an attached file which should contain few umlaut characters (for example testäöüÄÜÖ.txt)
  2. Configure the user account on one of the Android device and user should be able to see the message with proper file name.
  3. Save the attached file to somewhere on the device.
  4. Now compose a new message and attached the file (saved in step 3) to it and send to one of the GroupWise user.
Notice the file name becomes garbled in the sender's sent items also in the recipient's mailbox.
