Environment

Novell Cluster Services 1.8.4
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux Support Pack 3

Situation

While using NSSMU to initialize a small device (20 MB for example) the initialization works, but marking it as "shareable for clustering" will not complete and the "partitioned space" will go from 16 KB to 32 KB.

Resolution

This has been reported to engineering as a bug in NSSMU.

Use "ncsinit" to initialize and share the device.  Replace /dev/sdX with any given device:

  ncsinit -f /dev/sdX
