ZCM 11.1 upgrade fails after submitting the zone admin credentials

Environment

Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management System Update
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1

Situation

Fresh install of SQL Server
Fresh install of ZCM 11
Upgrading from ZCM 11 to ZCM 11.1 hangs for about 10 minutes after submitting the zone admin credentials
ERROR: "Unable to authenticate the specified administrative user"

Resolution

Verify that all SQL Server services are running.
If the SQL browser service is disabled, this authentication will fail as shown above.
Click "next" to continue with the upgrade.

Additional Information

When SQL server is first installed, the SQL browser service is disabled by default. It needs to be enabled and started before installing ZCM.
