How to configure a dedicated quickfinder POA for GroupWise

Situation

Purpose:
Identify the exact details of how to configure a dedicated quickfinder Post Office agent (POA) and how to disable the quickfinder on the main POA.  This document assumes that the dedicated quickfinder POA will be on a different server than the main POA. 
 
NOTE:  Having a Quickfinder Indexing POA running on a different operating system than the main POA is not a supported configuration and should not be attempted.
 
 

Resolution

NOTE: Startup switches for a Linux based POA is listed below, for Netware / Windows strtup files, the format would be (i.e: /home= or /name=, etc.)
 
NOTE: Startup files for the POA's on Netware would normally be located at SYS:\system\ and on Linux at /opt/novell/groupwise/agents/share/.  Windows startup files would be located at the default C: drive location of  C:\Program Files (x86)\Novell\Agents\ .

Additional Information

Updated NOTE: This document modified to mainly reflect content of Linux POA startup files, but still has information about Netware and Windows POA startup option format.
 
NOTE: The POA Web console (normally on port 7181 in a browser) has QF indexing options that you can select and submit for execution without stopping and restarting the poa, accessible from CONFIGURATION, QUICKFINDER INDEXING, INDEXING OPTIONS.
