ZCM Passive login fails on Windows 7 agents

Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management

Situation

Login appears to be successful
No Errors on screen
Zenworks icon in systray still shows user as logged out
Manual login from Zenworks icon is successful
Error shown in zmd-messages.log, "Shutting down user daemon worker thread"
PistolStar authentication software is installed
 

Resolution

On the ZENworks agent workstation, modify the HKLM\Software\Pistolstar\Password Power registry  key and set the “DisableProfileLoads†registry DWORD variable to 1.
