Situation
Using iManager to create a cluster resource you would get the
following error:
Clustering Error: A system error has occurred while managing the clustering software (click the "More Info..." link below for the stack trace)
Error Message: Unknown error with error code: 497.
In the /var/log/messages you would see the following error:
ncs-configd: createVirtualNCPServer failed: {'info': 'NDS error: entry already exists (-606)', 'desc': 'Already exists'}

Resolution
The virtual server object name was already in use in
edirectory.
Delete the old virtual server object and then you can successfully create the cluster resource.
