Unable to start ics_dyn process

Environment

Novell Access Manager 3.1 Linux Access Gateway appliance

Situation

Symptoms:

Novell Access Manager Administration Console shows the  Linux Access Gateway appliance (LAG) as disconnected/offline.

After issuing the command "/etc/init.d/novell-vmc start" on the LAG console, the ics-dyn process does not stay running.

The "/var/log/ics_dyn.log" files shows that the process is keep on restarting every couple of seconds until the maximum consecutive restarts are reached, and the following error is logged:

Resolution

The file "/var/opt/novell/naudit/nproduct.log" has been found to be larger than 2 Gb.

Remove or clear the file and issue the command"/etc/init.d/novell-vmc restart".

The ics_dyn process should run properly and the Administration Console will shot the LAG status as "green" again.
