Environment

Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux

Situation

OES2 SP2 server installed and working as expected.  iPrint was installed after the fact this same server and the default options were selected.  A question was asked about a proxy user being used and Admin was chosen which was then added as a trustee of the container in which iPrint was being installed.  The Browse object right and Read and Compare attribute rights were given at that point for the proxy user specified, which was again, Admin.  It was at this moment that the users who had been assigned security equivalence were affected because they now only had the above mentioned rights to this container.  They couldn't do any administrative tasks thereafter.

Resolution

After finding out that Admin had been specified as the proxy user during the iPrint install and seeing he had be given an explicit trustee assignment at that OU in which iPrint was installed, the trustee assignment was removed and all rights flowed down properly.  All admin equivalent or security equivalent users to Admin were then able to perform their tasks as before.
