Delete on close flag on CreateFile request results in pending delete status

Environment

Novell Client for Windows 2000/XP/2003 4.91 Support Pack 5 IR1

Situation

The Novell Client 4.91 returns an error code 5 (ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED) instead of an error code 80 (ERROR_FILE_EXISTS) under certain circumstances.

Resolution

This has been resolved in an updated NWFS.SYS.  The fix was first introduced in Novell Client 4.91 Post-SP5 (IR1) NWFS.SYS 2. (link)
