Safari browser adds %00 to the request url and then proxy fails with 400 Bad Request message

Situation

The linux access gateway adds a suffix on the URL, containing the characters "%00". When removing the characters, the website is shown correctly. This problem appears only when using Safari as a browser, on both Windows, MacOSX and iOS-plattforms.
This issue is not seen on the access gateway service.

Resolution

Reported to engineering.
Currently under investigation.
