Imaging zmgpreboot service on Linux randomly locks up

Situation

zmgpreboot service randomly locks up

When service locks up workstations hang at the pxe-boot "Contacting preboot policy service" for 2-3 minutes.

When service locks up a restart of the zenworks-services get back functionality of the preboot-environment.

Resolution

Fixed in ZENworks 7 Desktop Management on Linux Service Pack 1 Interim Release 4 Hot Patch 5. see KB 3484245 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
