WOL service will not stay running after installation

Environment

Novell Modular Authentication Service (NMAS)
Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Support Pack 1 - ZDM7 SP1

Situation

Installation of ZDM7 into a container that has a Universal Password Policy applied

WOL (Wake-On-Lan) Service object does not have zenwmid attribute

Error: Server DN is null

WOL service terminates immediately after being started

Resolution

Either:
  1. add nspmPasswordPolicyDN attribute to WOL Server object and then associate the object to a password policy that disables Universal Password, then perform Set Identity (browse to Server Package:NetWare:ZENworks Database.NOVELL within Console One, highlight it, then click Tools> ZENworks Utilities>Set Identity
    or
  2. delete the [servername]-ZIS object
    uninstall (not just disable) the NMAS components from the workstation during the install. This can be done via add/remove programs
    reinstall the imaging and inventory services
