Environment
Novell ZENworks 7 Server Management Support Pack 1 - ZSM7 SP1
Tiered Electronic Distribution (TED)
Novell iManager 2.7
Novell iManager 2.7
Situation
When trying to manage a TED distribution through iManager, if the "Overwrite existing target folder object attributes" field in the Desktop Application Distribution object is unchecked, the distribution still overwrites the folder attributes on the target; the field remains checked. If the same field is managed through ConsoleOne, the setting is written.
Resolution
Fixed in ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Service Pack 1
Interim Release 4 Hot Patch 7, see KB 3484245 "Updates to Novell
ZENworks 7 Desktop Management" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
Additional Information
Steps to duplicate:
Create a TED Desktop Application distribution object. In ConsoleOne, uncheck the "overwrite existing target folder object attributes" checkbox. Save the changes. Open the object again in ConsoleOne. The checkbox remains unselected. Distributing this application results in the target folder attributes being maintained.
Create another TED Desktop Application distribution package (or use the same one).
In iManager, uncheck the "overwrite existing target folder object attributes" checkbox (if it is enabled), or make a change on any attribute so that the changes have to be applied. Save the changes. Open the properties of this distribution Package again in iManager. The "overwrite existing target folder object attributes" checkbox is again enabled. If this application is distributed after clicking Apply while in iManager (regardless as to which attribute is modified), the target folder attributes are overwritten.
