XSP error when Starting iFolder Client

Error:  Unable to start xsp web service. iFolder will not be able to work, restart the application

 

After updating the iFolder client to iFolder 3.8.4.1, the iFolder client will NOT start, and gives the above error.  Restarting the application does NOT fix the problem.

To resolve this error, follow these steps:

1.) Stop the iFolder Client

2.) Browse to the %USERPROFILE%\AppData\local folder

3.) Rename the simias folder

4.) Browse to the %USERPROFILE%\AppData\remote folder

5.) Rename the simias folder

6.) Restart the iFolder client

7.) When iFolder begins the sync process and the prompt appears asking whether to sync or merge the files, select Merge.

(NOTE: By selecting merge, only the metadata has to be resynchronized with the server, rather than a full resynchronization of the files.)

8.) Test functionality.
