Can not login to iManager. Error in IManager while logging in. Unable to create AdminNamespace. java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.novell.admin.ns.nds.jclient.NDSNamespaceImpl (initialization failure)

Environment

Novell eDirectory 8.8 for Linux
Novell eDirectory 8.8 for Solaris
Novell eDirectory 8.8 for HP-UX
Novell eDirectory 8.8 for AIX
Novell iManager 2.7.4
Novell iManager 2.7.3

Situation

Can not login to iManager.
After supplying the credentials, we get the error message; "Unable to create AdminNamespace. java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.novell.admin.ns.nds.jclient.NDSNamespaceImpl (initialization failure)"

Resolution

Fix to the issue:

1. Go to Yast and do an Online update/ Channel/ Rug update on the server. This applying the latest patches or installs latest RPMs for eDirectory/ iManager.
2. Got to Yast --> Software management and search for Java packages. Make sure that the server has the latest package for all the modules of Java. If not, go to java download site and update the packages.
3. Reboot the server once.

This fixes the issue.
