Users don't get an update that there are new mails

Situation

User don't get a automatic notification that there are new mails.
User has to press F5 to see new mails.
The GroupWise client looses connection after 28 minutes.

The connection between Post Office and client is via a firewall and UDP is not allowed.

Resolution

The process of notifying a client that there is a new mail is initiated by the Post Office agent (POA) using UDP. The POA sends from the client port (default 1677) a UDP packet to the client (high port), telling that there is a new event. Also the client will send a keep-alive via UDP to the POA client port (default 1677).

To solve this issue, UDP should be allowed via the firewall.
