Error "Failed to connect to domain database" while accessing primary domain using ConsoleOne

Environment

Novell Client for Windows 2003/2008/7 2 Support Pack 1 (IR5)
Novell ConsoleOne 1.3.6
Novell GroupWise 8 Support Pack 2
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
Microsoft Windows 7

Situation

When we try to install ConsoleOne it gives an error "A lower version of Client is installed" and setup terminates.
Once the ConsoleOne is installed and when trying to connect to the primary domain database via ConsoleOne | Tools | GroupWise System Operations | Select domain , it gives an error : "Failed to connect to domain database".

Resolution

  1. Login as "Administrator" to the local system.
  2. Download and install ConsoleOne from GroupWise 8 SP 2 or later.
  3. Download and install Novell Client 2 SP 1 (IR5) or later for Windows.
