Situation
AFP says it can't see any shares even though there are shares enabled in iManager.
In /var/log/messages, afptcpd logs messages similar as below :

Resolution
It appears that the AFP desktop database has become corrupted.
To resolve the corruption, please stop the AFP daemon :
Next, for safe-keeping purposes, move the DESKTOP.AFP directories for each AFP share using :
And start the AFP daemon again :
This will recreate the desktop database for the AFP shares and workstation clients should be able to see the shares again.
After verifying that AFP works well once again, one can remove the previously renamed DESKTOP.AFP.OLD directories.
To resolve the corruption, please stop the AFP daemon :
# rcnovell-afptcpd stop
Next, for safe-keeping purposes, move the DESKTOP.AFP directories for each AFP share using :
# mv DESKTOP.AFP DESKTOP.AFP.OLD
And start the AFP daemon again :
# rcnovell-afptcpd start
This will recreate the desktop database for the AFP shares and workstation clients should be able to see the shares again.
