Performing a conversion using VSS BBT results in an empty Program Files directory on the Target

NetIQ PlateSpin Migrate

Situation

When attempting to migrate a Windows workload using Block-Based the target machine's C:\Program Files directory is empty.

Resolution

Once the configuration service completes, remove the C:\Program Files directory.

Cause

This is a known issue and can happen when performing a migration where the source server has 2 or more volumes and the system volume is not located on the C drive. In these cases, Windows will recreate the directory path on the original system drive.
