Cannot Successfully run Novell Access Manager administration console on Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition French language OS

Environment

Novell Access Manager 3.1.3-247 Access Administration Console

Situation

Purpose:

Install and run Novell Access Manager (NAM) administration console on Microsoft Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise edition French language localization.

Symptoms:

The installation process goes fine without errors and complete successfully, however, after the system is restarted the Tomcat service is not able to start.

Resolution

Using regedit go to the following keys:

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apache Software Fundation\Procrun2.0\Tomcat5\Parameters\Java\JvmMs

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apache Software Fundation\Procrun2.0\Tomcat5\Parameters\Java\JvmMx

and change their decimal value from 1024 to 512.

This will allow Tomcat service to start either manually or automatically at the next server reboot.

This issue does not affect Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition, where the administration console component of NAM 3.1.3-247 can be successfully run.
