Additional domain controller installed with oes2sp2. Can DNS be configured to work on this server?

Situation

An additional domain controller (ADC) was installed with oes2sp2. Can DNS be configured to work on this oes2sp2 DSfW server?

Resolution

Only DSfW servers installed with OES2SP3 can be configured to run DNS. 
If a server was installed with OES2SP2 and upgraded to SP3 it can not be configured to run DNS.
The ADC will have to be removed and re-installed with OES2SP3 in order to configure DNS.
