Why doesn't clustering automatically prompt me to configure when installing?

Environment

Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux Support Pack 1
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux Support Pack 2
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux Support Pack 3
Novell Cluster Services

Situation

After installing Novell Cluster Services onto an OES 2 server, the service is flagged "configuration is disabled" on the final, Open Enterprise Server Configuration screen.

Resolution

This is working as designed as outlined in section 5.5.4 of the OES 2 Support Pack 3 documentation be found at https://www.novell.com/documentation/oes2/clus_admin_lx/?page=/documentation/oes2/clus_admin_lx/data/bn0b6b9.html.

Additional Information

Clustering is initially flagged in this manner so that either other services can be configured first (like NSS, NCP, eDirectory, etc.) and/or to allow the opportunity to configure it at a later time.  As indicated in section 5.5 of the documentation (same URL above), "IMPORTANT:The YaST-based configuration is not used to modify the settings for an existing cluster."  There is a different process and script linked in section 5.5, to modify the cluster configuration.
