Situation
Customer installed SLES11 LAG on VMWare ESX 4 platform. After the VM is created and the install finished, no network interface card (NIC) or driver is loaded in the new LAG.
Resolution
Select the e1000 NIC when creating the host OS NIC on VMWare 4.
When creating the virtual machine in VMWare 4, we have the option to install the E1000 driver, the VMXNET2 (Enhanced) or VMXNET3 - the only 3 options you get while creating a VM for SLES11 32-bit. The VMXNET drivers should not be used.
