Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 3 - 10.3 ZENworks Control Center - ZCC
Situation
When editing an "Install Network MSI " action, if the file path is altered, an extra set of quotation marks is placed around the parameters.
Resolution
A fix for this issue is included in ZENworks 11, see KB 7006995 "ZENworks 11 - information and updates" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
For ZCM 10.3: This is fixed in version 10.3.2 - see KB 7007237 "ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3.2 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
Additional Information
Example of the problem: in a bundle, add an action for "Install Network MSI ", and in the path/filename, ensure that there is at least one space, so that quotation marks are placed around the path,
e.g.,
n:\msi apps\adobe reader 9.msi
this will result in the MSI file being shown as
"n:\msi apps\adobe reader 9.msi"
and the install parameters as
/i "n:\msi apps\adobe reader 9.msi" /qn
(and similar results for the other 2 parameters).
Now make any small change to the MSI file name field (ensure that the space remains in the file name) and tab out.
e.g.,
n:\msi apps\adobe reader 9.msi
this will result in the MSI file being shown as
"n:\msi apps\adobe reader 9.msi"
and the install parameters as
/i "n:\msi apps\adobe reader 9.msi" /qn
(and similar results for the other 2 parameters).
Now make any small change to the MSI file name field (ensure that the space remains in the file name) and tab out.
Another set of quotation marks are added to the 3 parameter fields, so that in this example, the install parameters field is
/i ""n:\msi apps\adobe reader 9.msi"" /qn
