Environment

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management Bundles
Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management Migration

Situation

Bundle with System Requirement"Registry Key and Value Exists ", "No "

Bundle is migrated from ZDM application that has Registry "Value does not exist " Distribution Rule

Specified key does not exist

System Requirement is not passed

Requirement works with ZDM

Resolution

A fix for this issue is included in ZENworks 11, see KB 7006995 "ZENworks 11 - information and updates" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

This is fixed in version 10.3.2 - see KB 7007237 "ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3.2 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

Bundles migrated from ZDM application that has Registry "Value does not exist " Distribution Rule will have two Requirements created; these requirements will equate to "allow this if the key does not exist, or the key exists and the value is different"

Additional Information

The behavior of the ZCM System Requirement is correct; if the key does not exist, it should fail - however, ZDM had a "loophole" which meant that it behaved differently. The fix allows the Migration Utility to ensure that migrated applications have the same functionality regarding requirements as they had in ZDM.
