NLDAP.NLM does not load

Situation

nldap.nlm does not load on a NetWare Server.

Resolution

  1. Using Windows Explorer go to SYS:\SYSTEM on the NetWare server.
  2. Ensure that nldap.nlm exists.
  3. In case, if nldap.nlm is missing then extract it from  NetWare 6.5SP8 overlay DVD\Product\eDir\8.8\EDIRSYS.ZIP.
  4. Copy the extracted nldap.nlm from step 3 to SYS:\SYSTEM of the problem server and reboot the server.
  5. Go to the tool tcpcon--> Protocol information--> TCP--> Select to view or modify, you will find that ldap is listening on ports 389 and 636.

Additional Information

After NLDAP loading successfully if you notice that LDAP is not listening on port 389 or 636 then refer to KB 10088716.
