Netware DNS server is unable to get zone transfer from Windows DNS server

Environment

Novell NetWare 6.5
Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server
DNS/DHCP Management Console

Situation

NetWare DNS server is unable to get zone transfer from Windows DNS server.
The Zone transfer is not properly configured on Windows DNS Server.
Below mentioned error appers on Netware DNS Server screen :
Error: transfer of 'test.com/In' from 192.168.2.1#53: failed while receiving responses: REFUSED

Resolution

Follow the below mentioned corrective steps on Windows server :
  1. Start >>Programs >>Administrative Tools >>DNS >>Forward Lookup Zones
  2. Select and Right click the zone
  3. Switch to Properties >>Zone Transfers
  4. Check Mark "Allow zone transfers "
  5. Select "Only to the following servers "
  6. Add IP address of NetWare Designated Secondary DNS server.
  7. Restart DNS Services on Windows Server.
  8. Unload and Load DNS service on Netware executing the below mentioned command on Server console to get the zone tranfer from Windows DNS server :
    Unload Named.nlm
    Load Named.nlm
