Situation

Adding roles to a satellite fail when using zman

ERROR:

The role you specified (Collection) is not a valid satellite server
role. Valid roles are:

ZoneConfig.ROLE_COLLECTION
ZoneConfig.ROLE_CONTENT
ZoneConfig.ROLE_AUTHENTICATION

ERROR: 200

Resolution

The user that is running the zman command needs to be added to the zenworks group. Run the following command to add a user to the zenworks group, for example "mjordan".

usermod -A zenworks mjordan

Then the user will be able to run the "zman ssc " command, for example:

zman -U=Administrator -P=novell ssc "/Servers/Branch Servers/fs8949a1coloh" Collection,Content,Authentication pdlzcm01
