Situation

ERROR: "Unable to Rebuild Deployment Packages" on Linux 64-bit machines after ZCM 11.0 upgrade.

Resolution

Bypass reading the Image Safe Data
  • Modify the UseImageSafeData entry in /etc/opt/novell/zenworks/zenworks.properties file from true to false .
  • "UseImageSafeData=false"
  • Restart the ZENworks services.

Additional Information

Imaging library functionality is broken on Linux 64-bit machines after upgrading to ZCM 11.0 which results in the novell-zenworks-xplatzmd agent being unable to read Image Safe Data as the agent starts. This causes the novell-zenworks-xplatzmd agent service to crash. Therefore the server's agent is unable to communicate with the server to complete rebuilding the deployment packages.
