Firewall does not automatically start on ZENworks 11 Appliance

Situation

The SUSE firewall does not automatically start when booting

Resolution

Fixed in versions of the appliance dated January 21 2011 or later

Workaround:
in a terminal session on the appliance, issue the commands
   SuSEfirewall2 start
   yast2 firewall startup atboot
 
(note that atboot is all one word)

These commands start the firewall on the appliance immediately, then configures the firewall service to start whenever the machine boots.
