Designer 4.0
Situation
Using the proxy settings within designer to check for designer updates but more importantly check for package updates.
Designer slowness when using the packages system.
Resolution
Current Work-around:
1. Start Designer
2. Cancel the update dialogs which come just after Designer comes up.
3. Go once to the Window > Preferences > General > Network Connections. (This
basically loads those plugins which are required for setting up proxy
connection)
4. Now try package updates by doing Help>Check for package updates.
